Format: Focus Meeting
LifeRing Focus meetings bring together specific communities of individuals with commonalities. In these meetings, they can explore in depth with participants who have similar journeys. -The meeting follows a How Was Your Week format. Participants have the opportunity to reflect on the past week’s events and how these events have impacted their recovery journey. Positive, supportive crosstalk is welcome. ****LifeRing Secular Recovery follows a 3-S philosophy: Sobriety, Secularity, and Self-Empowerment. We invite participants to strengthen their Sober Selves to quiet the narrative of the Addicted Self. LifeRing offers a safe, nonjudgmental space to express yourself and explore your support objectives. We treat everyone with respect, and everything shared is confidential.

The Liver Spot runs from 5:30pm to 7:00pm Pacific. Following the meeting, we retire to our after-session which we affectionately call Romper Room where additional shares are heard and related-topics are casually explored. Verifications will not be available until the meeting is closed.
You are very much encouraged to join this community-based meeting for people with substance use-related medical conditions. No conditions yet? Come talk about how you can keep it that way!
The Liver Spot is a LifeRing Focus Meeting for people in recovery who are also diagnosed with related medical conditions. Now, this might sound grim, because honestly, it is. But the meeting is not. This is a positive, supporting group of folk in recovery who want to talk about this journey from a patient's perspective.
The Liver Spot is more than just a peer support group; it's a recognized resource. We're proud to have garnered the attention of leading medical institutions like Stanford, UCSF, CPMC, Johns Hopkins, and the Mayo Clinic, with many participants referred by their physicians and treatment specialists. It's not uncommon for people to join us directly from their hospital beds, seeking the unique support we offer.
